Dental Implants are used for people who suffer from problems such as gum disease, missing teeth, and tooth decay. They are considered a much better alternative to bridges in both looks and benefits. With dental implant surgery, you’ll get teeth that look completely natural and they’ll protect the mouth just as well as normal teeth. This procedure has very low risks, though there is a slight chance of infection as with any surgical treatments that requires incisions and implants.

For this type of procedure, it is best that you visit a sleep dentist so you can feel relaxed during your procedure and you will not have to worry about the surgery at all. This is particularly helpful for people who have dental anxiety. We are a practice that provide sedation dentistry in Sydney that offers such services to people who need tooth implant surgery. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable at all times during your visit and our team will treat any oral problem you may have. Give us a call today to ask us any questions and to set up an appointment. We look forward to assisting you!

To ready yourself for a dental implant surgery, there are a few steps you can take to prepare for it and the recovery time after. Make sure you take pain killers like Ibuprofen to lessen prolonged soreness, receive prescriptions if needed, buy a few ice packs for faster healing, and fill your kitchen with soft foods to last you about a week. You may need your prescribed medication before the procedure since you have to take it about an hour prior to it so it is already working by the time the dentist is finished implanting the tooth.

The implant will feel uncomfortable for about a week after surgery and may cause swelling and bruising as well. Apply ice to the area of your mouth with a firm pressure for twenty minutes at a time. Keep applying it every twenty minutes for the next day or so to quicken the recovery rate. Only consume foods like pasta, and rice for a few days until the implant fully heals. Do not chew with the implanted tooth until the dentist says you are able to or else you may cause complications. Be sure to avoid using strong mouthwashes since they may irritate the wound.
